Benjamin Lucas Searle

I'm a PhD student at UCL Interaction Centre. My research focuses on well-being technologies - with a special interest in expression and communication. My main areas of work are in personal informatics (wearables, journalling, and social apps) and human-AI interaction.

I run No Blank Space designing digital technologies inspired by analog technologies, such as Amulet, an app for social journalling with metaphors of energy to nurture support networks; and Bulla, a digital bullet journal with paper-like affordances. I’m also building Mesm, a platform for immersive mixed reality city-wide storytelling.
